Reception hosted by the American Presidential Couple

At the Summit of Heads of State on Climate Change at the UN, the royal couple was invited to the reception hosted by President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York

Is it weird that my first thought was how tall they all are? Seriously, the shortest one of them is probably what, 5’10”?

Ha, my thoughts, as well! And it’s cute that the Grimaldis are holding hands.

Hey !  Look what I’ve found the original selfie from the 27th Academy Awards in 1955…or almost haha !
From left-to-right and top-to-bottom : Grace Kelly, James Dean, Audrey Hepburn, James Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Elizabeth Taylor, Lauren Bacall, Gregory Peck, Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman and Katharine Hepburn.

How funny! But what did they do to Grace’s neck, HOLY COW!

Yay! Now I know the name of the photographer who took those beautiful “Bambi” portraits of Grace: Horst Prange.

Thanks, Sheila! Are they from the 1960s?

You’re most welcome, ihideinmymusic! According to the ebay auction where I found it, the Bild und Funk magazine is dated for the week of February 27 - March 5, 1971. Therefore, I’m going to assume she posed for these portraits in very early ‘71 or late ‘70. This LINK gives a bit of history on Grace’s involvement with the “Bambi Awards” in 1971. While the translation Google gives is very rough, it seems that the Bambi Awards - which were created in 1948 - were lagging in appeal by the late 1960s so organizers schemed to heighten the awards public profile by taking the ceremony to Monte Carlo under the patronage of Princess Grace. I think it was combined with the Monte Carlo International Television Festival that year and Grace can be seen in attendance below.

Today my Siamese cat, Tara died… Girls, I cry the whole this day, as the child! . She lived 17 years - she did the whole life, the whole life happier for all my family… To me it is very sick, I very much miss her…

I am so sad for you, Julia, but I am also so happy that you were able to experience the joy that little Tara brought to you. I’m thinking of you and your Tara with fondness. ♥Sheila

Extremely frustrated by the pale purple line that appears on all of my scans.

9ri said: those are dead pixels… it means that there might be a problem with your scanner already

Is anyone around here familiar with (or does anyone remember… yeah, right, most of y’all are at least 10 to 15 years younger than me ☺) the model Vendela Kirsebom? I actually used to collect on her because she reminded me so much of Grace. I’ve recently been looking back at old photos of her from her modelling days - her 1989-1994 era and Elizabeth Arden ads are my favorites - and I see less resemblance now than I did back when I was collecting on her in the mid-90s. But, still, it was definitely there.

This is a very Stéphanie gesture. :-)
